What is Best Mates®?
Best Mates® is a pet wellness plan focused on preventative care. For a simple annual fee, you get unlimited free consultations plus huge discounts on treatments, vaccinations, and preventative care. It’s designed to make regular vet care affordable and stress-free.
How much does it cost?
Annual membership is $875 and includes a dental scale & polish, desexing or parasite prevention plus unlimited consultations and much more.
What payment options are available?
Payment can be made by credit card or direct debit. Your membership will renew automatically each year unless discontinued, and you’ll receive reminders when renewal is due.
What finance options are available?
Finance options are available for Best Mates in-clinic sign ups only through Humm*

Are there any lock-in contracts?
Nope! We don’t believe in trapping you into contracts. You can cancel your membership at any time with 30 days notice. We want you to stay because you love the service, not because you’re locked in.
What does "unlimited consultations" mean?
Annual membership is $875 and includes a dental scale & polish, desexing or parasite prevention plus unlimited consultations and much more.
Can I use Best Mates at any vet clinic?
Best Mates is available at participating Apiam Animal Hospital clinics across Australia. You can find your nearest clinic here.
What if my pet passes away?
If your pet passes away, please contact us at info@bestmates.com.au and we will assist you with terminating your membership. Members may be eligible for a reimbursement, calculated as the difference between the standard retail value of any goods and services received under the Best Mates Membership and the total membership fees paid to date. For full details, please refer to our Terms & Conditions.
Can I add multiple pets?
Absolutely! The great news is you’ll get 10% off the annual fee for your second and subsequent pets.
What happens with transfer of ownership?
If you have taken ownership of a pet that is a current Best Mates member and would like to transfer the membership into your name please contact info@bestmates.com.au.
When does my membership start?
Your membership is active immediately after you sign up! You can start booking appointments and using your benefits right away. No waiting periods.
